JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a Tuesday night shooting at an apartment complex in the Hillcrest area.
At about 8:30 p.m., officers received a call about a shooting at the Kingsbury Apartments in the 5500 block of Kingsbury Street, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in his 50s with a gunshot wound, JSO said. First responders took him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police also identified another man in his 50s who is a neighbor of the man that was shot. While police said they do not know the cause of the shooting, they are still determining if the shooting was out of self-defense.
So far, no one has been arrested.
The Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting.
