Local Weather: Warm and humid with an unsettled weather pattern this weekend

Rounds of showers and storms will blow across Jacksonville later Sunday into Sunday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Headlines:

- Evening showers and storms inch into southeast Georgia around sunset on Friday

- More widespread showers and storms blow through the First Coast beginning later Saturday

- Expect a few stronger storms with a "slight" risk of severe weather on Saturday

FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY: The entire weekend won't be a washout, but we'll have downpours to dodge, especially later Saturday. Storms reach areas near the coast by the mid to late afternoon hours and linger into the evening. Lightning will again be a risk, so keep your head on a swivel and listen for the thunder if you have outdoor plans. Make sure you have a place to seek shelter if and when you do hear the thunder! A cold front approaches the area on Sunday, which keeps conditions gloomy. The front will clear us out front north to south by Sunday late afternoon and evening.

MONDAY - TUESDAY: Cooler north breezes and some coastal showers kick off the workweek, but we'll see bluer, brighter skies by Tuesday.
