JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after being hit an 18-wheeler Monday afternoon on I-95 on the Fuller Warren Bridge.
At about 1:40 p.m., the 18-wheeler was traveling north on I-95 heading toward Park Street when the pedestrian ran into the outside lane as the truck approached, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The truck hit the unidentified man, who died from his injuries.
The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
The road was closed for several minutes as crews worked the clear the area. It has since reopened.
