JSO: Man shot at Arlington convenience store, drove off and crashed into car

The victim told police he pulled into the convenience store and was blocked by the suspect. The suspect then opened fire.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot after a suspect blocked his car from coming into the parking lot of a convenience store in Arlington Thursday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened around 4:15 p.m. Police said after blocking the victim, the suspect opened fire. A bullet hit the victim in the leg and he tried to drive away.

"Under the stress" of his injuries, he crashed into another car near Tredinick Parkway and Southside Boulevard, police said. 

He had a passenger in the car who sustained minor injuries during the car crash. He was also taken to the hospital, and his injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Police found multiple shell casings. There were several bullet holes in the car.
