Jacksonville police search for suspect following shooting on Westside

It happened on the 8500 block of Cross Timbers Drive West, according to JSO.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for the person who shot a man in an Argyle Forest neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Police say they were called to the 8500 block of Cross Timbers Drive West at the intersection of Spencers Trace Drive, where a man was found outside a home with a gunshot wound in his abdomen. This was just before 3:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. Officers say he lives in the area.

JSO is investigating whether anyone else was in the home that the victim was outside of, or in the area at the time. They say this is not a domestic incident.

Investigators tell First Coast News there is no threat to the community, but they do not have any information about the person who shot the man.

Anyone with information on what may have happened is urged to call JSO's non-emergency number at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. You can also remain anonymous by calling First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
