JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man in his 40's was struck by a small SUV and killed in the 8500 block Collins Road Saturday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department responded to the scene at 8:35 p.m. and pronounced him dead.
JSO says witnesses reported that the man was on his cell phone while crossing the road.
This is the 113th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2023.
Collins Road was closed from the 8200 block of Collins Road to Shindler Road Saturday night.
