Clemson, National Champions in 2016 and 2018, dropped their home opener against Duke and lost to undefeated Florida State in overtime four weeks later. Despite losing in double overtime to Miami by eight points and by seven against North Carolina State in back-to-back weeks, they have an eight-point win over ranked Notre Dame, a win over SEC opposition in South Carolina and wins against ACC teams North Carolina and Georgia Tech in their favor.

Kentucky have wins against blue chip teams in Florida and Louisville and their losses come against SEC heavyweights Alabama and Georgia, in addition to Tennessee, Missouri and South Carolina.
