WATCH: Well-wishers cheer as JSO officer injured in fatal wreck leaves Jacksonville hospital

They lined the hall at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville on Friday clapping for JSO Motorman Jack Adams as nurses pushed his wheelchair through the crowd as he left the facility for rehab.

JSO Motorman Jack Adams was transferred Friday from the hospital to rehab. Adams was in a wreck while traveling with his family Sunday. They were struck by a suspected drunk driver. Adams wife, Cathy, also a JSO employee, was killed in the wreck. Their two teens were also injured. Kim Michelle Johnston, 46, was charged with DUI following the crash.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's office confirmed Sunday evening that JSO court bailiff Cathy Adams has died after authorities say she and her family were struck by a suspected drunk driver on I-95. We are heartbroken to say that one of our #JSO employees, Cathy Adams has passed away within the last hour from injuries sustained in the traffic crash earlier this morning.

The woman accused of driving while drunk in a crash that killed a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office employee bonded out of jail Monday, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office. Kim Johnston, 46, was charged with two counts of DUI with serious bodily injuries and was set a bond of $50,000 for each count, totaling $100,000.
