Remains found in Jacksonville backyard identified as 23-year-old father of 3

Sabeion Dowell went missing nearly a month ago. His family has been showing up to crime scenes in Jacksonville, attempting to find out if he was dead.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Remains found in the backyard of a home on Sunny Acres Drive in the Magnolia Gardens neighborhood of Jacksonville have been identified as 23-year-old Sabeion Dowell, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has confirmed.

Dowell went missing on Feb. 23. His sister said he left his residence on foot and didn't say where he was going. His other sister told police this was "not normal" behavior for him.

On March 14, police were notified of the remains of two human feet found in the backyard of the home. Dowell's family came to the scene, trying to find out if the remains could be tied to him.

They told First Coast News they thought he was dead, but wanted closure, and have visited several crime scenes to ask if the victim could be Dowell.

Police confirmed on Monday the remains were able to be identified as Dowell.

He leaves behind three children, his sister said.
