The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection to a murder that took place on Philips Highway last month.
JSO says that Andre Burkes has been arrested for the shooting and murder of Timothy Tyson that took place on Jan. 29 on Philips Highway and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Officers say that the witnesses who came forward to helped them solve the crime.
According to police, Tyson was shot and killed at the Scottish Inn off Philips Highway around 4:45 a.m.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers say they found the victim on the ground next to a vehicle in the rear parking lot. He was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound where he was later pronounced dead.
