Family says Frankie, the family pig, is dead

A St. Augustine family is offering a reward to find there beloved, 700 pound pig named Frankie.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- — *Update: 4/11 Family members tell First Coast News their beloved family pig, Frankie, has died.

It's a sign that would make you stop, or at least slow down.

As you drive down Kings Estate Road in St. Augustine, there are signs all over the place making a plea.

The plea is from Neena Cohill to find her missing, enormous pet pig Frankie.

The sign says he's 600 pounds but, "He's probably closer to 700 pounds now," Cohill said.

What's a few pounds between friends?

Either way, there's a massive pig that has disappeared -- something that would be really hard to miss.

"How could a pig this massive go missing? it's crazy?" she said.

And that's certainly one major question here.

Another question: How did they come to have this pet to begin with?

"Frankie wondered into our yard sometime after the hurricane [Irma] and we gave him food and water and he never left,” she said.

They say he disappeared around Easter.

"Sometimes he would wonder into a neighbor's yard and they'd call me and say, 'Neena, come get your pig,'"

But she says that hasn't happened this time.

They say they love this pig like it were any other pet.

A love so large, they've decided to offer a $5,000 reward for Frankie's safe return.

If you can help them find Frankie, call Neena. Her number is (904) 806-4430.
