JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Good evening, 8 p.m. sunsets! A tell-tale sign of summer being right around the corner is longer days and more evening activities.

On April 24, the sun will set at 8 p.m. for the first time since last August.

With a sunrise of 6:49 a.m., Wednesday's day length consists of about 13 hours and 11 minutes.

The days will continue to get longer until the summer solstice, June 20, with about 14 hours and 6 minutes of daylight.

The latest sunsets, however, occur June 23 to July 6, at 8:32 p.m.

The latest sunsets don't equate to the longest days because, by the end of June, the sunrises start happening later in the morning.

Our sunsets will occur in the 8 p.m. hour up until August 22.

Enjoy your outdoor evening activities!
