JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Rejoice, those who love evening activities! As we close out January, the sunset in Jacksonville officially slides into the 6 p.m. hour.

By Leap Day, Feb. 29, sunset will be at 6:25 p.m.

There's good news for early risers, too. The sunrise is sliding back earlier and earlier, and sunrise will officially move into the 6 a.m. hour on Feb. 21.

The length of daylight continues to grow during this time. The last day of January features 10 hours and 44 minutes of daylight, but the last day of February will have 11 hours and 32 minutes of daylight.

We officially spring ahead on March 10, which will move the sunrise into the 7 a.m. hour again until mid-April. It will push sunset to 7:30 p.m. We'll have 11 hours and 50 minutes of daylight that day.

The lengths of the days will continue to get longer until the summer solstice, June 20. There will be 14 hours and 6 minutes of daylight with sunrise at 6:25 a.m. and sunset at 8:31 p.m.
