ORANGE PARK, Fla. — An Orange Park man died after the Florida Highway Patrol said he drove his car into a retention pond early Sunday morning.
According to the FHP, the 34-year-old man was traveling west on Thunderbolt Road when his car drove into the pond at about 3:20 a.m.
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old older passenger in the car was not hurt in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
