JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday night on Jacksonville's Westside.
The crash happened at about 6:55 p.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Collins Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 39-year-old motorcyclist was heading north on Roosevelt Boulevard nearing the Collins Road intersection while a SUV was headed south on Roosevelt Boulevard with a solid green light at the traffic signal.
The motorcyclist went to the left turn lane to make a U-Turn without the turn arrow. The SUV hit the motorcycle's right side as it crossed the intersection.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Driver of the SUV sustained on minor injuries.
