During a press conference, Curry said, "it's important that we support police and fire."

Part of the proceeds in Saturday's Guns N' Hoses Hockey Match will be donated to the Adams family, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry announced Tuesday morning.

During a press conference, Curry said, "it's important that we support police and fire."

"Over the past few years, there have been some tragic incidents," Curry said. "I got the call Sunday morning of the terrible accident. I know it hit me hard. I can't imagine how deep and it hit the Adams family and the men and women who put the uniform on everyday."

On Sunday, the Adams family was involved in a serious accident involving a suspected drunk driver. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office court bailiff Cathy Adams, her husband and JSO motorman William "Jack" Adams, and their two teens were sent to the hospital as a result of the crash.

Cathy Adams was put on life support, but later died Sunday night. Jack Adams remains in critical condition with a neck injury. Their children suffered minor injuries and were released from the hospital.

The Guns N' Hoses Hockey Match is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 15 at at 3 p.m. the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

Tickets cost $15 to attend. Other proceeds for the event will be donated to the Jacksonville Firefighters Charity and Fraternal Order of Police Foundation.
