JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars made it official on Monday, confirming they've exercised the fifth-year option on both quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne Jr. Both were picked up by the Jaguars from Clemson.

Lawrence, who's heading into his fourth season with the team, was the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Over his tenure, the Jaguars said he's made significant strides, tallying 1,116 completions for 11,770 yards and 58 touchdowns in 50 games, all of which he started. Notably, he's also rushed for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns on 205 attempts. Lawrence's leadership qualities are evident as he's been voted as a team captain every year of his NFL career, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2022 and AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors three times.

In his standout 2023 season, Lawrence showcased his prowess, completing 370 passes for 4,016 yards and 21 touchdowns. He joined elite company by surpassing 300 completions in Week 15, only the second quarterback in franchise history to achieve this milestone in his first three seasons.

On that same note, Etienne Jr., drafted 25th overall in 2021, is also poised for another season with the Jaguars. Despite an injury sidelining him during his rookie year, he's made an impact, accumulating 2,133 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 487 attempts, along with 792 receiving yards and a touchdown on 93 receptions. His versatility has been key, ranking among the top in scrimmage yards since 2022.

In the 2023 campaign, Etienne Jr. continued to impress the organization and fans, rushing for 1,008 yards and 11 touchdowns on 267 attempts while contributing 476 receiving yards and a touchdown on 58 receptions. Notably, his consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons mark a significant achievement for the Jaguars, the first since 2010.
