Jaguars' WR Christian Kirk placed on 'Designated for Return List'

Kirk underwent surgery just a few weeks ago following a core injury.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Saturday, January 6, the Jaguars announced wide receiver Christian Kirk was placed on the "designated for return list".

He was originally placed on the Reserve/Injured list on December 8, 2023.

Kirk suffered a core muscle injury in the quarter of the MNF game against the Cincinnati Bengals. At the time of that injury, only four regular season games were left in the season.

However, the bright side is that Kirk would be eligible to return from the IR list in time for the playoffs if the Jaguars fulfill their expectations and finish strong.

Jaguars' Head Coach Doug Pederson saying he is threading lightly with Kirk's current situation. Even with the weight of the Tennessee Titans game.

"This game is obviously a game that you’ve got to have, you want everybody available if possible. At the same time, you never want to jeopardize a player’s future or career with further injury," said Pederson.

"I just want to make sure he’s in a good place. We take them by case-by-case, they’re individual. But in his case, because he’s blocking and running downfield, being hit," he added.

Kick-off against the Titans is set for 1 p.m.
