Stripers surge past Jumbo Shrimp in game-two clash, 4-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Riding momentum from their opening day victory over the Gwinnett Stripers, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp started strong in Game Two.

In the first inning, Jacob Amaya drove a hit towards second base, allowing the runner from third to score and giving the Jumbo Shrimp an early 1-0 lead.

However, it was in the sixth inning when the Stripers began to dominate. JP Martinez delivered a powerful hit, sending the ball out of the park for a 427-foot, 2-run homerun, marking his second homer of the season in just two games.

The Stripers continued to add runs, scoring twice more, while the Jumbo Shrimp struggled to generate offense. The final score favored the Stripers, 4-1.

The series concludes Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
