DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — In the soccer state regional semifinals, the quest for excellence unfolded tonight as teams battled for advancement. In the 7A bracket, Mandarin hosted Lake Mary in a tightly contested match.

Entering the second half with a scoreline of 0-0, the Mustangs shifted the momentum 9 minutes into the period. Alias Goldsberry's skillful dribbler found the back of the net, giving the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Omar Trto's well-executed cross set up Daniel Moreno's impressive stop and pop move, extending the lead to 2-0.

The Mustangs continued their offensive prowess, finding the net two more times and securing a convincing 4-0 victory. With this triumph, Mandarin advances to the Regional finals, set to host West Orange next Wednesday in the Elite Eight.

Meanwhile, in the girls' soccer action, Bartram Trail faced Hagerty, aiming to continue their impressive track record with three out of the last four state titles.

Carolyn Johnson opened the scoring for Bartram Trail in the first half with an effortless strike. In the second half, Ali Fletcher showcased her skills, maneuvering past defenders on her way to a stunning goal, giving the Bears a 2-0 lead. Bartram Trail successfully held onto this advantage, securing a 2-0 victory and further solidifying their championship aspirations.

In a dynamic night of high school soccer state regional semifinals, Mandarin secured a commanding 4-0 win over Lake Mary, while Bartram Trail claimed a 2-0 victory against Hagerty; now, Bartram Trail is set to face their rivals, Creekside, in the Regional finals, adding an extra layer of intensity to the highly anticipated matchup.
