Columbia Fightin' Tigers strive to rebuild culture

Allen said last season his squad was young but had a strong secondary. The Tigers were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round to wrap the 2023 season.

LAKE CITY, Fla. — The Columbia Fightin' Tigers are putting in work up in Lake City.

Head Coach Brian Allen and his squad definitely plan to make their fans soon forget what happened last fall.

Columbia's 2023 season could be best described as a rollercoaster of a season. They'd lose a few straight and then go on a win streak.

Allen said last season his squad was young but had a strong secondary. The Tigers were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.

Allen said spring football is where it all starts, and the Fightin' Tigers believe they've learned from the errors of the past. "Jumping back in it, the offseason is the time where you build that culture. It's been a lot of physical training, but there's been a lot of mental training. Getting in the locker room the way we want to," said Head Coach, Brian Allen.

"Everybody's working. I can't just say one thing and not the other. Everybody's working, trying to get better. Each day, every day," said Xavier Collins, the quarterback and rising sophomore.

The Tigers say their younger classmen will have to step up this season, but he is confident they will fill the shoes that need to be filled.
