Camden County begins the Travis Roland era

Travis Roland joins the Wildcats from Mainland High School.

KINGSLAND, Ga. — The Camden County Wildcats have kicked off their offseason training activities, led by their new head coach Travis Roland.

Roland, fresh off a state title victory with the Mainland Buccaneers last season, brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality to the Wildcats' program.

In a twist of fate, Roland's name might ring a bell for football enthusiasts, as it was his Buccaneers who clinched the crown jewel by defeating St. Augustine last year. Now, he faces a new challenge at Camden County, a program with high expectations and a storied history.

Entering his 8th season as a head coach, Roland acknowledges the pressure that comes with leading a team like Camden County but is no stranger to such expectations, having thrived under similar circumstances at Mainland. His leadership and championship-winning pedigree are expected to galvanize the Wildcats as they aim to reclaim their spot among the state's elite.

Despite falling short in the Final Four last season, losing to Walton, the Wildcats are poised for redemption. With a talented roster boasting standout players like UGA commit Elyiss Williams and other returning stars, Camden County possesses all the necessary ingredients to make a strong push for the state tournament.
