JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After spending 21 of the last 22 seasons as the Sandalwood football head coach, Adam Geis is stepping down.

Geis joined the Saints in 2002, and rounded up his first six-season stint in 2007, after stepping down for the 2008 season. But just a year later, Geis was back as the head coach and has been ever since.

The Saints had eight seasons with seven or more wins, while making the Class 6A Regional Playoffs Finals twice during Geis's reign.

During that span, Sandalwood bolstered some great talent, which included 17 Florida Times-Union Super 11 selections such as running back Maurice Wells, who rushed for a then-state record 3,076 yards. His rosters also included NFL players Ameer Speed, Daryl Richardson, DeMarcus Walker, Chris Jones, and Rusty Smith.
