Creekside wins 2nd girls' soccer state title in 3 years

Creekside beat Boca Raton 2-1.

DELAND, Fla. — After trailing by a goal early in the 7A title game, Creekside came from behind to take down Boca Raton 2-1 at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand on Saturday, capturing their second state title in three years.

Senior Chloe Iliff tied the game late in the first half, and then freshman Sarah Weisberg scored the potential game-winning goal at the 48-minute mark off of a direct corner kick. After that, the Knights played stellar defense to secure the championship.

Since head coach Joe Soto took over the Knights' soccer program three years ago, he has already established Creekside as a staple for soccer in Florida.
