DELAND, Fla. — After putting two goals in the back of the net in the second half, the Ponte Vedra girls' soccer team claimed the 6A state title, taking down East Lake 3-1at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand on Saturday.
This is the Sharks' fourth title in program history, all under head coach Dave Silverberg.
Ponte Vedra's three goals came from Hadley Conway, Jenny Dearie, and Elle Anderson.
After the game, Coach Silverberg said senior Alex Patuel's halftime speech was a big reason the Sharks pulled off the victory.
