VIDEO: 11-foot Burmese Python captured swimming off coast of Florida

Biologists estimate that the snake weighed 31 pounds.

This is something you don't see every day.

Scientists from Biscayne National Park posted a video of a massive Burmese python swimming about a mile off the coast of Biscayne Bay in South Florida last week.

Biologists netted the 11-foot snake so it could be safely captured and removed. They estimate the reptile weighed a whopping 31 pounds.

Biologists are encouraging people to report pythons and other invasive creatures to officials.

WATCH:

Burmese pythons are among the largest snakes on Earth, according to National Geographic. They are capable of reaching 23 feet or more in length and weighing up to 200 pounds.
