LAKE CITY, Fla. — The Lake City Police Department announced on Thursday that human remains discovered in August were identified on Wednesday as Brett Holcombe.
On August 9, 2023, police were called to 637 SW Commerce Drive, a wooded lot, about the possible discovery of human remains.
The remains were sent to the medical examiner's office, where they were identified 8 months later.
Police said Holcombe's next of kin were notified of his death.
