Overnight fire damages roof on Jacksonville's Southside

No injuries were reported in the fire, but there was damage to the building's roof. Some businesses in the area also lost power.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Crews are working to repair the roof of a Jacksonville business Tuesday after an overnight fire prompted a response from Jacksonville Fire and Rescue.

JFRD reported a structural fire at a commercial building in the 4200 block of Baymeadows Road at approximately 4:06 a.m. Tuesday. A police officer driving by around 3 a.m. Tuesday reported the fire to JFRD.

The building burned is owned by IMC Management.

No injuries were reported in the fire, but there was damage to the building's roof. Some businesses in the area also lost power.

Captain Eric Proswimmer said the firewalls in the business helped prevent any damage to neighboring businesses.
