Marineland will be celebrating its 80th anniversary Thursday and the park is hosting a special event to commemorate the landmark.

Marineland will be celebrating its 80th anniversary Thursday and the park is hosting a special event to commemorate the landmark.

Here’s what you need to know:

-General admission is free all day in celebrating of the re-opening of the arch.

-There will be a ribbon-cutting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, with speakers from Georgia Aquarium, Mayor of Marineland and Flagler County Commissioner Hansen.

-From noon to 1:30 p.m., there will be a buffet lunch host by Marineland and Rype n Readi Farm Market.

-There will be plenty of photo opportunities at the entrance in front of the iconic coquina rock, which has been there since 1938.

-Live music will help amp up the mood.

-There will be “Meet the Trainers” presentations at 2:30 p.m. next to the dolphin pool areas.

-At 1 p.m., there will be a “Meet the dolphin” presentation.

-“Behind the Seas Tours” will also be available on the half hour all day, featuring the park’s expanded new Historical Museum.

-The park will celebrate the official opening of “Submarine Hill” overlooking the ocean beach.

-You can own a piece of history by purchasing historic window frames from the original Habitats built in 1938.
