James Gordon, 47, allegedly targeted a 62-year-old victim on July 2 outside of a Walmart at 8808 Beach Blvd, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, throwing her to the ground and breaking her hand in the process.
James Gordon was arrested, Saturday, and is accused of two robberies and a grand theft.

Officers arrested a suspected robber, Saturday night, accused of targeting shoppers outside two separate Walmart locations in Jacksonville.

James Gordon, 47, allegedly targeted a 62-year-old victim on July 2 outside of a Walmart at 8808 Beach Blvd, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The victim was loading grocery items into her vehicle when Gordon allegedly ran up from behind and tried to snatch the woman's purse, throwing the victim to the ground and breaking her hand in the process.

The suspect ran off without the purse and left in a white sedan, according to JSO.

That same day, JSO says Gordon was involved in a grand theft incident at a Publix located at 4400 Town Center Parkway.

Officers said Gordon had also targeted a 78-year-old victim in the parking lot of another Walmart at 6830 Normandy Blvd, June 28, and snatched a bag containing a checkbook from the victim's hand, according to JSO.

Gordon confessed to all three incidences, JSO said, after an encounter with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department during an unrelated investigation.
