CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers were recognized for their role in helping a woman deliver her baby on the side of the road.
Just after 4 a.m. Saturday, officers Caskey and Jackson were assisting with the investigation of a fatal accident on I-85 near North Graham Street when a person caught their attention and said that a pregnant woman stuck in the traffic was giving birth.
Both officers rushed to the aid of the woman, who was on I-77 near South Clarkson Street, as she delivered the baby. Shortly after, the mother and baby were taken to CMC and are doing well, according to officials.
