Chefs to compete in Jacksonville Iron Chef Competition, fundraise for K9s for Warriors

The event is a fundraiser to help raise money for K9s for Warriors, a local non-profit which helps pair disabled veterans and veterans suffering from PTSD with a service dog.

Three chefs will compete for the "Best chef in Jacksonville" and cook Italian food.

Three Jacksonville chefs will be bringing the heat on Feb. 26 as they compete for the title of "Best Chef in Jacksonville." They'll be competing in a sold-out local Iron Chef Competition designed to raise money for K9s for Warriors.

The Iron Chef Competition is taking place at the Queen’s Harbour Yacht and Country Club, 1131 Queen’s Harbour Blvd. It starts with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m., then chefs will fire up their grills at 6:30 p.m.

The chefs that will be competing will be from Salt Life, Grand Living at Tamaya and Queen's Harbour Yacht and Country Club. They will be making Italian food during the competition.

Special guest judges will help determine the winner, including former Jacksonville Jaguars player Drayton Florence, the president of K9s for Warriors Brett Simon, local foodie Nate Mayo (also known as Nate Does Food) and Melissa Guz from First Coast Foodies. First Coast Living's Curtis Dvorak will MC the event.

A full-course dinner will be served, along with desserts by Diana Testa. There will also be a presentation and demonstration by K9s for Warriors, as well as a live auction and raffle.
