The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement recovered a woman’s body matching the description of someone who was reported missing on Monday.

The woman’s body was found in a shallow grave in the 22000 block of 41st Road and will be sent to the medical examiner’s office in Tallahassee for positive identification and cause of death. The body is believed to be that of 32-year-old Delia Cruz.

As of now, Ruben Gutierrez, also known as Ricardo Fuentes and/or Ruben Portillo Gutierrez, is considered a suspect in her death and has been located and arrested in Alachua County.

Police also need help from the public in tracking down a large green duffel bag that he was last seen toting. Residents in the southeast and southwest parts of Micanopy are being asked to keep an eye out for this bag in your garbage or elsewhere.

If found, don't move it or tamper it if you see it.

Gutierrez is a registered sex offender who is on probation for a sexual battery he committed in Marion County in 2004. He was released from prison in December after serving 10 years for attempted murder.
