JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man who has been arrested for domestic battery multiple times has now been charged in the death of a 20-year-old Jacksonville woman.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office charged Corey Martin, 32, in the murder Monday. He was already in jail at the time for previous crimes.
Police say they were called to North Pearl Street on November 4 last year for reports of a battery with injuries.
When they arrived, officers found 20-year-old Veronica Brown unresponsive. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
JSO announced the arrest Wednesday, calling the crime "heinous."
