Betterman Conference comes to Jacksonville

NFL Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins, Jaguar's New QB Nick Foles, and more will discuss the process of becoming better spiritually, physically and mentally in life.

This Friday, The Bethel Church in downtown Jacksonville will host the Betterman Conference with NFL Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins, Jaguar's new QB Nick Foles, retired Jaguar Safety Donovin Darius, and Eagles Team Chaplin Ted Winsley.

They’ll discuss the process of becoming better spiritually, physically and mentally in every area of life. The Betterman Conference will leave you with a practical, 20-day plan to help transform your life through new or improved habits and disciplines.

Lead pastor of Bethel, Bishop Rudolph McKissick Jr., says this will be a life-changing event and he doesn't take it lightly that it's held at one of the most thriving churches on the First Coast.

"This is a call to the city," McKissick said. "For him to bring it here is honoring, it's humbling, to know that he still remembers his roots."

Dawkins is a long-time member of Bethel and wanted the last stop of the conference to be at his home church.

"We're the mother church, the oldest Baptist church in the city. Where else would you bring it," McKissick said. "We're downtown, we're a lead church, we're centrally located, we're right by the stadium, what better place to have it than Bethel."

With 2018 Super Bowl MVP-winning quarterback, he became the first quarterback in NFL history to post a perfect passer rating and to throw seven in a single game, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl.

Foles is a husband, father and believer in Jesus. He says he's passionate about sharing his faith and being a positive example for others.

With Foles joining Dawkins on the panel, attendees will have the chance to catch Jacksonville's new quarterback off the field and in action.
