The popular video game “Overwatch” is offering a limited-time pink in-game skin for the game’s staple healer Mercy, with proceeds going toward charity for breast cancer research.
The new skin, which is primarily pink and includes the trademark pink ribbon on the back of Mercy’s outfit, will cost $15 – yes, real money – and can be purchased in-game or online through May 21 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
“Breast cancer is the most common cancer that affects women worldwide,” The game’s director Jeff Kaplan said during a developer update post to YouTube. “Many of us on the Overwatch team have friends have family that have been personally affected by this devastating disease.”

Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of “Overwatch,” is also releasing a limited-edition pink Mercy charity shirt, as well as in-game sprays and player icons that can be used in the game by players, Blizzard said Tuesday.
Blizzard will donate 100 percent of the proceeds that it receives from pink Mercy skin sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000. The total donation amount will be disclosed once the campaign ends on May 21.

“Overwatch” is a team-based first-person shooter created by Blizzard Entertainment, the gaming company behind other hit games such as “Diablo” and “World of Warcraft.” The game is currently one of the most popular video games out there on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
