The Sea and Sky Air Show is returning to Jacksonville Beach this weekend. Here's a guide with everything you need to know to enjoy the free show.

JAX BCH, Fla. — The skies over the ocean at Jacksonville Beach will be bustling with activity this weekend with the return of the Sea and Sky Air Show. The event will feature the world-famous United States Navy Blue Angels and more. The following is a guide with everything you need to know to enjoy the event.

What: Sea and Sky Air Show 2023

When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Where: 75 1st St. N., Jacksonville Beach

What to know before you go:

What is the admission fee?

  • The Sea and Sky Air Show is free.

Are lawn chairs and blankets allowed?

  • Yes.   

Are pop-up tents allowed?

  • Yes. Tents are only permitted on the beach, not on streets, Latham Plaza, or the Seawalk Pavillion. Beach umbrellas are preferred.

Is swimming or surfing allowed during the air show?

  • Yes, however, patrons are not permitted to go beyond 300 feet from shore. Parasails, kites, and balloons are not allowed.

Is ear protection recommended?

  • Yes, but it's not required.

Is standing or playing on the dunes allowed?

  • NO! Standing, walking, or playing on the sand dunes is not allowed. The sand dunes play a vital role in the preservation of the beaches and are the first line of defense against storms and erosion.

Can boaters watch from their boats?

  • Yes, but be aware that the U.S. Coast Guard and FWC will enforce the “Safety Zone.” Encroaching or attempting to transit through the zone is punishable by up to 6 years in prison or up to $250,000 in fines.
    • The following coordinates pinpoint the location of each corner of the safety zone. Buoys will also be deployed at the prescribed locations.
      • 30-17.54N / 081-21.54W

      • 30-16.06N / 081-22.43W
    • From the pier to the start of the safety zone is exactly 0.11 NM
    • From the beach to the Northern point of the zone is 0.23 NM.
    • This distance is the same for the Southern point of the safety zone.
    • Boaters should tune their marine band radios to VHF-FM Channel 22A at 8:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. for further instructions. This information is subject to change according to the U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

What happens if it rains?

  • Weather is continuously monitored for this event. If it is just a shower, the show will go on with a few postponements depending on the aircraft scheduled to perform at that time. If there is lightning in the area or otherwise deemed unsafe for patrons and performers, the Air Show command will make an announcement over the PA and via social media. 

Parking

  • Parking at Jacksonville Beach will be limited during the event. Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the Park and Ride Shuttle that will run continuously from FSCJ South Campus to the transportation hub at Pablo Avenue near the event site. 

Handicap parking

  • There is limited handicap parking available on 1st Avenue N. between 3rd and 2nd streets. It is first-come, first-served. The shuttle system from FSCJ south is ADA compliant. 

Bike parking

  •  Bicycle parking at the following locations:
    • 4th Ave. N between 2nd and 3rd streets
    • 3th Ave. N between 1st and 2nd street
    • 2th Ave. N between 1st and 2nd street

Friday, 9:30 a.m. through Sunday, 7:00 p.m.:

  • 1st St. N from 1st. Ave. N to Beach Blvd - access to Four Points by Sheraton Jacksonville Beachfront Hotel to remain open.

 Friday, starting at 9:30 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.:

  • 1st St. N from 2nd Ave. N to Beach Blvd. - access to Four Points by Sheraton Jacksonville Beachfront Hotel to remain open.
  • 1st Ave. N between 2nd St. N and 1st St. N

Saturday, starting at 11:30 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.:

  • 1st St. N from 2nd Ave. N to Beach Blvd. - access to Four Points by Sheraton Jacksonville Beachfront Hotel to remain open.
  • 1st Ave. N between 2nd St. N and 1st St. N

Sunday, starting at 11:30 a.m. through 7:00 p.m.:
