FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -- Police have identified the body of a man who washed ashore in Fernandina Beach early Wednesday morning.
Police say Thomas Ryder Ingram, 51, set fire to a trailer he lived in at 857 Robin Hood Drive around 2 a.m. Another resident sleeping inside the trailer woke up to find the trailer on fire and escaped uninjured.
The two men and a third man were believed to be involved in a disturbance earlier in the evening.
Ingram's body was found near Beach Access #9N around 6:20 a.m. in the surf.
Authorities believe Ingram committed suicide after setting the trailer on fire.
