FHP: Motorcyclist killed in Flagler County crash

A 60-year-old motorcyclist from Palm Coast died Wednesday in a crash that occurred around 9:45 p.m.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A 60-year-old motorcyclist from Palm Coast died Wednesday in a crash with a sedan on Matanzas Wood Parkway, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 73-year-old driver of the sedan had minor injuries from the crash. The report said he was wearing a seatbelt.

The FHP report says both vehicles were driving in different directions on Matanzas Wood Parkway at the intersection of Belle Terre Parkway around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver of the sedan was heading west, and the motorcyclist was driving east. 

According to the report, the driver of the sedan attempted to make a left turn onto Belle Terre Parkway when the front of the sedan crashed into the front of the motorcycle. 

The driver was thrown off the motorcycle and landed in the road. He was wearing a helmet, according to the report. 

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. The motorcyclist died from his injuries.
