ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A 22-year-old man from St. Augustine died in a crash in Suwannee County Wednesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says on Wednesday at 11 a.m., the St. Augustine man was traveling east on County Road 248 in a 2022 Toyota Camry. At the same time, a 39-year-old man from Branford was traveling north on County Road 49 in a 2013 Volvo, FHP's crash report states.

The report says "for reasons to be determined," the St. Augustine man "failed to stop before entering the intersection" where the two roads meet, at which time his Toyota traveled underneath a trailer attached to the Volvo.

The 22-year-old was pronounced dead on scene, according to FHP, as a 20-year-old passenger in his car was seriously injured and taken to Shands Hospital. The report states the passenger is a woman from Lake City.

FHP says the man driving the Volvo did not suffer any injuries.
