12 events, 1 day: Sheriff says to expect traffic delays Saturday in Clay County

The Clay County Sheriff discussed what may be the busiest day of the holiday season in Clay County: Saturday, December 9.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Twelve events, one day. On Tuesday the Clay County Sheriff discussed what may be the busiest day of the holiday season in Clay County: Saturday, December 9.

This Saturday, prepare for traffic starting in the morning around at 10:00 a.m. at State Road 16 for the Penny Farms Christmas Parade.

The sheriff says several neighborhood roads will also be shut down for events. She urges you to download the free SaferWatch app where she says the sheriff's office will be posting updates on road closures and what's going on.

The sheriff says you can also submit a tip to them through the SaferWatch app, which you can download here.

"If anybody in our community sees something suspicious, please don't hesitate," Sheriff Michelle Cook said. "Call us immediately, flag down a deputy, or send us a safer watch tip on the app."

Cook says more than 150 Clay County Sheriff's deputies will be out working Saturday. She says part of the conversation moving forward will involve working with event organizers to space out events.
