Emojipedia, an online encyclopedia for all things emoji-related, celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Apple emojis by showing smartphone users just how much their favorite emojis have changed in a decade.

The first Apple emoji font and keyboard were released on Nov. 21 2008, and since Wednesday, users have been able to see how much of a difference 10 years can make.

Though the Baby Angel emoji has lost quite a bit of hair since its inception in 2008 it did gain a pair of eyebrows and a range of skin tones to choose from.

The Woman Dancing emoji has since shortened her skirt, straightened her hair and grew hands since her debut years ago. She also comes in five different skin tones.

The Person Running emoji realized running in a T-shirt and jeans isn't nearly as comfortable as running in shorts and a tank top. Maybe he moved to Florida?

The Personal Computer emoji soon evolved into the Laptop Computer, showing a clear sign of the times.

Few emojis have undergone as much change as the Person Tipping Hand (originally named the Information Desk Person). In 10 years, this woman changed her hair, added teeth to her winning smile and now comes in a range of skin tones to choose from.

The quintessential emoji for happy couples everywhere, the Man and Woman Holding Hands have evolved to a much more customizable design. Users can choose different skin tones, hair colors and genders to represent their love to the world.

Arguably the most controversial emoji evolution came when Apple traded in its Pistol emoji for a Toy Gun emoji on April 24, 2018.

The Folded Hands emoji (originally the High Five emoji) has experienced subtle changes, like losing the yellow lines emanating from the hands. It also comes in five different skin tones.

Of course, who can forget one of the most popular (and sometimes aggravating) emojis of all -- the Face with Tears of Joy, AKA the Crying Laughing emoji. This well-known character hasn't changed much aside from the tears being placed a bit farther toward the outer corners of its eyes.
