Icemen fall short to Everblades in game two, 2-1

Eight minutes into overtime, Everblades on the fast-break, and Matt Wedman scores the game-winner from downtown.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Game two of the first round of the Kelly cup playoffs between the Icemen and Everblades went down on Sunday in the river city.

Nick Luukko's team looking to go up two games to none in this best of seven series, but they'd need overtime.

The Icemen took game one a final 4 nothing.

With 7 minutes left in the second period, Icemen display beautiful puck movement as Derek Lodermeier puts it in during the powerplay for the 1st score of the game. The Icemen were up, 1-0.

Celebration was short lived. Just two minutes later, Everblades with the 3 on 2, and Sean Josling with the sweet move as that ties up the game. This would tie the game, 1-1.

The teams remain scoreless for the rest of regulation, so the game would head to overtime.

The Icemen would fall to the Everblades in game two with a 2-1 final.

They're on the road for the next two games, three if necessary.

The Everblades host the Icemen on Wednesday, April 24th at 7:30. Then again on Friday, the 26th at 7:30. If a fifth game is necessary, they will stay in Everblades territory and play on Saturday at 7pm.
