PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — The PGA Tour announced its 144-player field for the 50th Anniversary of The PLAYERS Championship Friday.
The field includes nine former champions including Scottie Scheffler (2023), Justin Thomas (2021), Rory McIlroy (2019), Webb Simpson (2018), Si Woo Kim (2017), Jason Day (2016), Rickie Fowler (2015), Matt Kuchar (2012), and Adam Scott (2004).
There will also be 23 players making their debut at the prestigious event, with 23 countries being represented.
Four eligible players have not committed to the event, including two-time champion Tiger Woods. Woods has not played in the event since 2019.
