Florida State Seminoles look to build on unbeaten season after playoff snub

"Season didn't end the way we wanted to, but can we show up this next season and be a better football team?" Norvell said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida State Seminoles, their fans, administration, and even some college football fans across the country are still angry about being left out of the College Football Playoff last season. The Seminoles went 13-0 and won the ACC Championship, but the selection committee still said it was not enough.

Instead, the Seminoles played the undefeated Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl, who, like the Seminoles, believed they should have secured a spot in the College Football Playoff.

But that was then, and this is now, a new season will soon be upon us. FSU head coach Mike Norvell was asked how to top their 2023 season.

"Season didn't end the way we wanted to, but can we show up this next season and be a better football team?" Norvell said.

He emphasized that he is only looking ahead now. "To grow as a program and continue to push. I'm excited to see them continue to progress," he added.

Looking ahead, Norvell is excited to come back to Jacksonville for their annual training camp.
