The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has arrested nearly two dozen in a massive undercover internet sex crime operation called 'Operation Safe Summer'.

JSO says that Operation Safe Summer netted 22 arrests and was planned and initiated by their agency with the assistance of multiple agencies on the First Coast.

Specific details of the operation have not been revealed to protect future operations, however, JSO says that law enforcement identified suspects by using undercover officers to pose as to minors online.

According to police, suspects traveled from as far north as Yulee and far south as Orlando to meet with the minors and ranged in age from 19 to 40.

Police say that some of the suspects arrested have no criminal history while some have felony convictions.

All 22 suspects charged with a variety of various felonies, JSO says.

Many of the partnering agencies in the operation belong to The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a national network represented by state and local law enforcement that are involved with the prosecution of those involved in child abuse.

Agencies that helped assist in this operation include the State Attorneys Office, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Gainesville Police Department, Orange Park Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Clay County Sheriff's Office, Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office and Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
