ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Aquarium, Snorkel Adventure is set to have a soft opening on Monday, December 19, to introduce St. Augustine residents and visitors to the new aquarium.

The first phase of the Aquarium has been completed with an interactive shark and stingray cove, hands-on habitats, and an 80,000-gallon tank for their Snorkel Adventure.

Admission for adults is $8 and $5 for children. You can purchase an adult admission ticket here.

You can even adopt an animal, such as a seahorse, octopus, stingray, or shark. One of their best-selling animals to adopt is the seahorse. For $15 you will receive a downloadable adoption certificate and a species description photo. Your donation will provide fish-care services, food, equipment, and supplies.

For $35 you can purchase the Snorkel Adventure, which includes a snorkel, mask and wetsuit.

Their hours of operation are 10 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. The aquarium is located at 2045 State Road 16, St. Augustine, Florida 32084. Their phone number is 904-429-9777.

The second phase of their construction will add more marine conservation habitats for sharks, stingrays, eels, barracuda, octopus, jellyfish and reef fish.
