Police wear red bands to show 'anger and disgust' over recent attacks

GROVELAND, Fla. -- Police departments all around the country are swapping out their blue or black bands for red.

The Groveland Police Department took to Facebook to explain why.

The post by the department states, "normally you see a blue or black line across the badge as a sign of mourning for fallen Law Enforcement Officers. The red band across a Law Enforcement Officer badge is a sign that we are angry and disgusted about all the recent attacks on Law Enforcement Officers."

Just last Sunday three police officers were fatally shot in Baton Rouge and three others were wounded. This comes after five law enforcement officials were killed in an ambush-style.

The Groveland Police Department is just one of many agencies wearing these red bands across their badges to send the message that "enough is enough."

People all around the country have also been supporting their local police departments. Many stories are emerging of people keeping watch over their police officers.
