ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — After residents of the Celestina Community on Race Track Road lost heat and power Tuesday when a gas outage impacted their neighborhood, service is coming back on.
Teco Peoples Gas was out working in the area since 8 a.m. Wednesday, a spokesperson said.
By 6 p.m., everyone who was home while workers were in the area had power restored.
Teco says less than 100 homes are left without service. For technicians to turn the gas back on, they must have access to meters and any natural gas appliances in the home, and an adult must be there.
Teco says remaining customers can call 877-832-6747, or, if they see technicians in the neighborhood they can approach.
