Four teenage boys were arrested for stealing guns from a St. Nicholas gun store, JSO said at a news conference Thursday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested four teens in connection with the burglary of a gun store in St. Nicholas last month.

JSO Director of Investigations Mike Bruno announced the arrests at a news conference Thursday afternoon. A 16-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and two 13-year-old boys are all in custody, according to the sheriff's office.

Police said the four boys walked to the gun store and used a crow bar to open the door. They stole eight firearms altogether, including six pistols and two rifles, then ran away, Bruno said.

A short time later, the suspects realized they left a backpack and two cellphones behind. When they went back to get them, an employee at the business saw the suspects and was able to give police their descriptions.

Police recovered three pistols and one rifle, but they are still searching for four firearms that are unaccounted for.

Two of the boys were also identified as the suspects who robbed a 77-year-old woman in a park on Jan. 17, Bruno said. Police released video of the suspects stealing the victim's purse.
